My favorite French bistro around the Bay Area - they are a rare species! Lots of traditional French classics and some fun/fusion dishes with a twist (duck confirm samosas... yummy). I always order the French onion soup. Wine bottle prices are astoundingly good, with a minimal mark-up to retail, and the selection (mostly French and Californian) is excellent. Great ambiance, easy to get a reservation even the day before using Open Table... even for a Fri evening date (phew!)

Rude manager! There was a sign outside their door that said happy hour was from 5-630pm. Upon entering the building I was screamed at by a tall, balding old looking French man, telling me they weren't open until 5:30. I informed him of the sign outside that indicates happy hour at 5-630. He screamed again telling me it said 5:30pm not 5:00pm. I immediately left and watched him carry the sign inside. Please don't waste your time here, go some place else where they care about their customers and service.

Yum! Get the wine flights (3 large pours for $12). The duck confit was delicious! As was the steak. Fish balls should be skipped. Charcuterie was good, but small portion. Creme brûlée was perfect.

Seriously, such a delicious place. I am back to France every time I go there. The staff is super nice and really cares, and here is a true statement: the sweat breads, coq au vin and beyond everything the duck confit are the best in town! You simply can't miss this place. Oh, and the chocolate mousse contains light orange peels and crispy chocolate chips. Just an amazing time, always!!
