A beautiful hike up either Elliott Lower or Upper to a gorgeous turquoise lake. Either trail is on the easier side, 5.3 miles up 1500 feet and the lake offers out houses and spots for camping. Awesome hike.

Hiked this in May. The trail splits into two routes near the trailhead. The Upper Elliot is less wooded and offers views of the surrounding peaks, while the Lower Elliot route follows Elliot Creek through old growth, view excellent views of the creek in Spring. After a couple miles the trails rejoin each other for the ascent to goat lake. The trail has a few fairly gentle switchbacks, and is otherwise easy to ascend to Goat Lake. There is a large long jam between the lake and the beginning of Elliot Creek. Some excellent primitive campsites exist along the lake shore, and near the creek before the falls.

An excellent trail to hike, watch for the switchback near the waterfalls, seems a lot of people miss it.
Beautiful end to the trail as well.

Overnight camp at Goat lake from June 12 to 13. Took the upper Elliot trail into the lake, which was even and well maintained. Temperature low 50s. Arrived at lake mid adternoon, mist cleared and could view entire lake and snow covered hillside on opposite side of lake. Great photo opportunities. Took the lower Elliot back to parking lot next day. Work crew clearing the trail and they did a great job clearing out the trail! Aloha
