My all time favorite ramen restaurant in Honolulu! This is the original location, in the Ward Center across the street from TJ Maxx. Rich, spicy, pork broth, which has no comparison. Definitely try their Tan Tan ramen, which features this outstanding broth. Paired with a thick piece of pork belly, shaped like a ribeye steak. Thick curly noodles, and Chinese broccoli. For a lighter broth, try their shoyu ramen. I highly recommend their chicken Tatsutaage, marinated boneless chicken, fried in light batter. Served in a generous portion with lemon and house katsu sauce.
I would give it 0 star if I could. We paid $80 2 ramens and a goyza side order via Grubhub only to get instant noodle + fried pork chop + diluted soy sauce as the ramen soup. This simply just blew my mind, having had so many ramens throughout my life as an Asian, whether corner store or high end Japanese restaurant, I’ve never seen such Ramen if I can even call it a ramen. It’s more like $5 instant noodle bowl where you get in your local Asian grocery store. We requested spicy sauce, but it didn’t come with that, which at least could mask the soy sauce flavor. This is our last meal in Hawaii and definitely the most horrible restaurant meal I’ve ever had.
Had lunch take out while working upstairs in the Box Jelly. Their char shu is very tender and yummy. It is good on ramen of course, but today I chose them on rice. It would be great if I can have some red ginger with it!
One of my favorite ramen shops in Honolulu. Multiple locations around the island but the Ward Centre location is my "go to" restaurant of them all. The fresh made Noodles do make a significant difference. The Tan Tan is my normal order but I tried the Truffle Shoyu Ramen this time. A little pricey but definitely worth it. Served with sliced chicken breast, shimeji mushrooms, a poached Egg and veggies, it is a meal. The Truffle was just perfect - good flavor without being overpowering. This place is always busy for a reason, so be prepared for a short wait patrons cycle pretty quick, especially at the counter. Just make sure you sign in on the clipboard outside as soon as you get there to keep your place in line!
One of my favorite ramen places. I get the tan tan ramen, a huge bowl of tasty broth with ramen, greens, and huge piece is char siu. It's delicious and filing. Also great location to hang out and chat with friends.
Excellent spicy Tan Tan Ramen. Very good service and prices.
I really wanted to like this place or maybe I should've went to a diff location but our food tasted awful. Most of the menu was unavailable add-ons, drinks, etc it was upsetting because we had been wanting to dine here for months. It looked just wonderful but taste..my shoyu ramen ..it tasted burnt. I do not know how to describe. The chicken karrage was mostly fat and my husbands charsu was dry. It bothered us all day.
The ramen here is delicious. Lots of choices with flavors and ingredients for your bowl. Broth is tasty. Goma Tei Ramen Ward is very consistent with quality. The char siu is grilled and crispy instead of tasting like it was boiled or cooked and set in a warmer. So good!
Try the number 2 with extra pork!! So good! And the staff was extremely nice and attentive.
Slow service due to only one guy working the front understandable due to covid. Big menu but too many things “not available” should print out a new menu if missing so many items. Choi sum was bland and won tons were poorly made. Only thing that was great was how fast he got the check ready for me.
