Amazing little ramen restaurant. We ate here last night and enjoyed every aspect of it. The place is really clean with friendly staff that are really helpful and attentive. The menu is moderately sized and as the name suggests, predominantly ramen with a few curry dishes in there. We ordered the Tonkatsu Shoyu ramen, the Katsu curry and some popcorn chicken as a side. We really underestimated the portion sizes as they were huge and we deffinately ordered too much food. Regardless of this, everything we ordered was great, full of flavor and really filling.
This place looks clean and fancy. foods are large in portion at a decent price. the 3-piece meat version of ramen is way too much for me. the base soup of ramen is totally different from the “thick” traditional Japanese ramen . Since the waitress desperately tried to convince us to try their new truffle ramen $20, we ordered one and it does taste better but the noodle came at a much smaller portion! At first my kids refused to try the new truffle ramen , the waitress came back and asked them “Why not?”,” is it the higher price?”,etc. I guess this is the Asian way to do market research but to Americans like my kids it was a very rude manner . Hope their branch at ala moana has better service.
I enjoyed my food, the staff were very friendly. Place was clean. My ramen was weak in flavor but it was still tasty. It wasn't as mind blowing as I was told. Also they add an 16-18% gratuity regardless of party size.
Our party of four came in for a late lunch at around 2:30 on a Monday and the restaurant was completely empty. Not sure if this is the norm or if we just came at a weird hour. Even so, it took a while for them, each time we needed something. We started out with the Chicken Tatsutaage as an appetizer. It comes with a dipping sauce on the side but the seasoning on the chicken is already salty/flavorful enough. I liked that it was bitesize, like popcorn chicken, so it was a lot easier to eat. For my main, I had the garlic tan tan ramen, which I believe was one of their seasonal specials. It comes with char siu, some veggies, and a bed of garlic resting on top of a sheet of seaweed. It wasn't bad but I think the garlic really made it. If it was plain, it wouldn't have been anything special. Probably wouldn't come back. I'm sure there are tons of other ramen spots in Hawaii, and I'd like to try those first.
We loved eating here when we're visiting Hawaii. My husband couldn't get enough of their ramen! All kinds to choose from and also delicious curry! The staff was friendly and the inside was stylish with comfortable seating. Definitely a place we'll remember for their tasty food
Friendly staff. Clean and simple design. We were seated right away. They tell you right off that a 16% gratuity is included in the bill, which is ok as long as they deserved it. I ordered the seafood fried rice and my wife ordered the chicken shoyu ramen. I also ordered the goma chicken wings. The fried rice was quite delicious and the seafood was cooked right. The soft boiled egg was good. The chicken wings were delicious with a wonderful crunchy exterior and moist interior. The ginger sesame based sauce was a wonderful addition. The ramen had tender chicken bits and the vegetables were tender and the broth flavorful. The ramen was perfectly cooked. The wait for the food wasn't bad at all. A good experience.
OMG! The broth!!! Divine! Rich and creamy! Savory pork flavor with notes of peanut and a hint of spice. Perfect noodles, thin and chewy. The char-shu pork was tender and flavorful. The gyozas were amazing! Plump with pork and veggies. Make your own dipping sauce with soy sauce, pepper spices and a little vinegar. Gratuity is included at this location, but they were very attentive and deserving. Note: draft beer and prior cocktails may have influenced this review. ;
Service was excellent which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. The people were great. The food? Awful. It had no flavor and the wontons were slightly undercooked. Now I understand why they add gratuity ahead of time. Though again the staff was great and I upped the tip to 20% as normal. I’ll skip this place in future though. Marekame Udon is just across the street and way better.
The food and drinks were really good however the service was horrid. The waitresses always seemed bothered to do anything for us like getting a glass of water. Whenever we called them, they simply ignored us and kept going about whatever job they were doing. Was quite a let down as it was my partners 21st birthday.
I like this place because of the freshly made in-house noodles! There's a service charge of 16% added to the bill. It's obvious because of the machine they have in the back that makes their noodles. I also like this place because of the kama'aina discount. I recommend their ban ban ji chicken, chicken tatsutage, or the goma wings. I like chicken that's why!
