Not THAT Gyoza no Ohsho but ramens are really tasty and I loved it. Staffs are friendly. No parking.
You know you've found a great ramen place when every patron in the restaurant is Japanese or speaks Japanese, including the owners and cooks. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Nothing fancy; instead a local corner informal restaurant hang out, Just the way you want it. Highly recommend. You won't regret it.
We've been to Japan and have eaten plenty of ramen in our life. Came here with family to grab a quick bite to eat as ramen is relatively fast to serve up. Ordered 2 cha sui ramens, a garlic ramen and a chicken curry rice bowl. We were one of three other diners in the restaurant. This should have been a give away. They were already eating, so our table would've been the only ones the chef had to cook for. Had to flag the waitress to order and asked for table water. Received the cha sui ramens first after about 30mins. The broth was extremely salty. Tasted like water and soy sauce, no amount of chilli oil and flakes could save the flavour. The pork was very dry and flavourless and looked old. The bamboo shoots were very pickly. The garlic ramen arrived another 10mins after that. The extra egg should've been soft, but was hard boiled, and instead of garlic oil they used dry garlic flakes. So the broth wasn't garlic infused at all. We had finished our meals and were still waiting on the curry. By that time we were the only customers in the restaurant, and had, had enough of waiting and asked for the curry to be put in a takeaway container. The chef yelled at the back to the waitress about being the only person in the back cooking, but came out to apologise for the wait. We paid and left. 4 dishes for $55. For a good ramen that price is decent. For the ramen we had there it was a rip-off. Tried the curry when we got back to our accomodation and it was worse than the curry we had in a food court the day before. My advice is to walk to any other ramen place, as it won't be as disappointing.
We ordered 4 different dish and no one could eat more than half of it. And Chinese, they'll give you a bill with tips included. Wrong choice spoiled our last night time in Hawaii. Location is really good though.
Broth didn't have much flavor, gyoza was decent at best and it was expensive. Not an authentic ramen shop that would meet the standards of folks who know what good ramen is. Especially at that price.
My wife and I were visiting Honolulu from Canada and we absolutely loved this place. The ramen and the fried noodles were delicious. I guess you can't go wrong with Japanese food in Hawaii.
The only Gyoza No Ohsho in the nation, or so they say. I heard that a lot of people who are actually from the Kansai area in Japan think this place isn't that great compared to the real store in Japan. I gotta say though, this is really great ramen place in Hawaii; especially in Waikiki. My favorite part is that their menu is pretty unique and the dishes aren't part of your usual ramen place; like the garlic ramen, tenshin ramen/hanrice, mapo tofu, sara udon crispy noodes, etc.
We liked it. But beware vegetarians - the tofu has beef in it. Large serves. 2 adults could share 1. Gyoza is awesome.
Fantastic food, absolutely recommended. Had the cold noodles and they were brilliant. Reasonably priced, and the owner and his wife are very nice and helpful.
I really like this restaurant, the food is prepared fresh in the kitchen great quality and value is great it is not overpriced like all restaurants in Waikiki . Service is prompt and very friendly. I will be back soon !!!
