Gordy's Hi-Hat

Food was plentiful. Preparation was rapid. Cost was very reasonable. Maintenance of floors and tables was on going and inconspicuous. Portions were large and the appropriate temperature. Good parking. Music to fit the time period for the High Hat. It was Great to have them open after the long winter hiatus of being closed. I drive a Long way to at there.

Typically very busy, but worth it; great burgers, chicken and fish... Fast done right and work quality foods. Fries and onion rings were very good too. I also enjoyed a blueberry malt for the first time (I typically go for something chocolatey); fantastic... It may be a regular may for me going forward!

Best mushroom Swiss burger and chocolate malt! UPDATE: I have now been here several times and it has rocked each time. But I am almost embarrassed to say that I hadn't realized that the business across the parking lot from them is also part of the whole experience; Gordy's Warming House! On this visit, I just had a large coffee and some insanely good local ice cream that I can't remember the creamery or the crazy flavor but trust me, it was awesome. So was the coffee. But the atmosphere was even nicer. Hi-Hat is always bustling no mater what time that you go, but during a mid afternoon stop on a Sunday, it was completely chill. We didn't have to rush from our table, so we enjoyed the down time driving back from up north. Sitting, enjoying our coffees, and sharing the paper and thoughts on the headlines; that is what this place seems all about (although I am sure that we couldn't have done that at peak hours). So the dilemma of deciding weather we hit Gordy's going up or coming back to the cities is solved. Burger and shake going up and coffee and ice cream at the Warming House coming back.

Best burgers in Cloquet. Some of my favorite burgers up North. Not that I have been everywhere and had every burger, but two of my other favorites in the state are Shamrocks in St. Paul and the Breeze Inn in Duluth also make a really good burger. But! Gordy's is a great spot to stop at on your drive up north. The staff is super friendly and the burgers come out piping hot and fast. Couldn't tell you about the rest of the menu because double cheeseburgers are all I care about and they are some of the best in the whole state of Minnesota. Keep up the great work, please!

Great place! The buffet was super reasonable and came with great wings. The staff was phenomenal and the peanut butter cookies were amazing. Great stop if you're starving after the boundary waters!
