Great salon. I’ve been going to (owner) Daniel for a decade. Always a great experience.

I didn’t think the décor and feel of a place would have such a positive impact in the treatment itself. From the moment I first walked in I felt safe, cozy and welcome, which made the 20 minutes I had to wait feel like 2. The hairdressers, especially Julia, are excellent at what they do, talented and caring but not hesitant to give advice or even tell you when what you want might not look good on you.‎

Go look at Yelp reviews. They over-processed my "highlights" leaving my hair streaky and multicolored. It's effectively fried. My dark brown hair has platinum blonde and occasional white streaks in it. The color was completely stripped. Went in to have it fixed by a different stylist but the color (toner) didn't hold because my hair is so damaged. After spending four hours in the salon for a simple color request I will not be returning. The communication with clients is absurdly lacking and the skill set seems to be poor. They don't listen to what you are asking for, just do what they want to your hair. The two stylists I saw were Aicha and Johannie, so perhaps the others are better. I don't need to be dropping top dollar at a salon that sends me out the door looking like a clown and is snotty about it.

Daniel Levy is rude and insulting. When I asked for him to only cut a few inches off of my hair, he ended up cutting off a substantially larger portion than I had asked for. When I explained my worries, he patronizingly told me "do not go home and cry about it." His remarks were not only inappropriate but incorrect. I have the right to cry after putting up with his poor character, over priced salon, and disparaging remarks. If I am paying $100 for to a simple hair cut, it should at the very least be to the customer's satisfaction. To Hair Salon Customers: This is the most overrated hair salon in Washington, DC and I should know. I have been living in this town for over four decades. Only go here if you want to add more stress to your life and wish to flush money down the toilet. To Daniel: With the prices you charge you should really learn more about the service industry....shame on you.

Daniel has been doing my hair for the last 8 years. He does a terrific job with my highlights and hair style. I constantly receive compliments!!! He is always on time and everybody at Hair Lounge is very nice. I couldn’t be happier and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
