Haus Heidelberg German Restaurant

I read good reviews about this place and checked it out while on a trip. It's small and I would recommend reservations if dining during peak hours. I ordered wiener schnitzel and my spouse ordered Yeager schnitzel. It did not disappoint. While this may not be the dining experience of the Disney Epcot German pavilion, it was down home real deal German food. They had the lightest fluffy spaetzel I have ever eaten. The roasted potatoes were cooked with onion and bacon, yum! I just wish they would use steamed green beans instead of canned in the bean salad. I would definitely go back again if I am in the area. There were lots of beer steins and such sitting around as decor and it was all clean and not dusty at the booth where I was seated.

The bratwurst was delicious! Unfortunately, the potato pancakes were dry but portion size was big. The sides: German potato salad and cucumber salad were bland. The staff was super friendly and efficient. It is worth going there for the sausages.

Great food. Friendly service. The food is prepared with a light hand, not over cooked. Too often German food can be heavy. Here the food is delicious and not at all heavy. It's a place I would come back to in a heartbeat.

Great authentic German food. Been going there every time we go to Flat Rock for 8 years. High quality food every time. Cannot say a bad thing about Haus Heidelberg. It would be nice if they turned the patio into a little bar area so you could have a beer while waiting for a table or friends.

We are from Ohio & come to the mountains every spring for 38 yrs. Love the greater Asheville area. Hendersonville is one of the favorite cities we visit. We stay in Lake Lure @ Rumbling Bald/Fox Den resort. The Haus is our FAVORITE Restaurant. It has the best German food anywhere. Just love the place! Look forward to it every year.
