HearCare Audiology Center

As a professional musician I know it is important to have one's hearing checked, so I decided that there's no time like the present. Dr. Mary Thorpe was knowledgeable, on time and created a very welcoming office environment. I'm happy that my hearing test revealed normal hearing - whew! I feel certain that wearing earplugs when I encounter a loud environment has been helpful in maintaining normal hearing. Dr. Thorpe created ear impressions so my new custom-fitted earplugs could be made. I like to have multiple pairs (one in my purse, one in my suitcase when I travel, etc.). I am very happy to have found Dr. Thorpe, who was recommended to me by a knowledgeable friend in Sarasota. Next year I'll return for what will become my annual checkup. I want to continue to do everything possible to preserve my hearing!!!!! Thanks, Dr. Thorpe!

With hearing aids that were 3 years old, my hearing had deteriorated to the point where I couldn't understand what was being said on TV, Church, meetings, movies, plays and couldn't hear melodies. Working with me over a period of 2 months, Dr. Thorpe fitted me a pair of Oticon1 hearing aids equipped with a t-coil that allowed me to connect directly with the church sound system as well as any other venue around town as well as a blue tooth capability that allows me to connect with my TV, a smart clip worn by my wife. The stress associated with not being able to hear clearly has been lifted. Mary worked tirelessly to adjust my hearing aids so that I could hear more clearly in a variety of venues. Her personalized attention to each client make a huge difference in a successful fitting. Andrew Nyce, PhD

I have had hearing issues most of my life. I knew there was a problem but I had no idea how bad. I always thought that people were mumbling. I couldn't tell the difference between some numbers, letters, & words especially on the phone. People were always aggravated with me & some were down right mean, causing me stress and anxiety. After my initial hearing test Dr. Gwen Dawson told me just how bad my hearing loss was & that I would need hearing aids. I couldn't help it I started to cry. She was so compassionate & understanding! She didn't treat me like I was being a baby or over reacting. She is so sweet & one of the kindest people I have ever met! I am actually looking forward to my next appointment! And that says a lot because I have been avoiding the reality of my hearing problem for many many years. I would highly recommend Dr. Gwen & all the staff in her office to anyone who has a hearing problem!

I finally decided to make an appointment with HearCare Audiology Center and I am very happy I did. I was seen by Dr Dawson who is very kind, patient and answers all of my questions. She also wears hearing aids, which made me happy, because I felt she could relate to the problems I was having. All in all, I highly recommend Dr Dawson and HearCare Audiology to anyone with hearing issues. Thank you Dr. Dawson. HearCare Audiology is the best.

I have been a patient of HearCare for over two years. I cannot speak more highly of any group of medical personnel and staff than HearCare. Mary's spirit and commitment to serve permeates the whole operation - competent, well-trained, patient oriented all. Dr. Jeff Olson has served me outstandingly well in the past year through a serious problems that I have had. I should also mention the volunteer work that the staff perform for the needy - both in this country and in Africa.
