I just got done with my cataract surgery and I want to share my experience with you.Dr. Pizio and Dr. Austin makes a good combination.They are both efficient ,trustworthy and possess great personalities,same with her wonderful staff who truly cares and made me feel comfortable during the entire process.If there's anyone there who needs a good ophthalmologist, look no farther.Dr. Pizio is the one.I highly recommend her. She is the best in Vegas.

I consulted four Doctors about cataract surgery then debated with myself for a long time before the procedure. Then I went against a creed I bought into many years ago. 'If one is skeptical about doing something, do not do it! What does this have to do with cataract surgery? Simply it is apparently not for everyone. Me for example. Dr. Pizio voiced confidence I would benefit from the operations. However, Dr. Hendricks (Dr Pizio referral) states my uncorrected vision is 20-50 and that he could correct it to 20-40 with new corrective lens. Ironically that was the same as it had been for 70 years before the surgery. Only now I need corrective lens to read and I didn't require same before the procedure. My main take away is that I'm more impaired now than prior to the operations. I'm not dissing Dr Pizio as she and her contemporaries are good at their craft but it is just not for everyone. Surely I cannot be the only case. It baffles me the Medical profession apparently has yet to determine cataract surgery is not for everyone or (and I hope not) it's only done for the monetary gain. To say there was no 'out of pocket expense' for me is a misnomer as I paid about $175.00 for new corrective lens. I have yet to receive same as it has been about a month (I was told two weeks). Of more importance is the fact 'un-necessary operations of any kind drive up the cost of insurance (private and government) and possibly lessen the availability to those people truly in need. In conclusion I would have been much happier if I was told, 'You are a candidate for cataract surgery but the truth is your vision may prove to be no better than it is now'. Awesome doctor and person....very polite, professional and honest. Her entire staff is always very nice, helpful and friendly. GREAT PRACTICE!

Dr. Helga Pizio is Absolutely The BEST. I have taken both of my parents to all kind of doctors but the excellent service, friendliness, professionalism and courtesy provided by Dr. Pizio's staff in Summerlin's office is unmatched here in Las Vegas. It is because her own personality and knowledge supersedes all and sets an example for everyone. My parents had bad experience with other eye doctors that finally was corrected by Dr. Pizio. She performed surgery on their eyes with extra care and they are very happy with the results. I would recommend Dr. Helga Pizio very strongly to anyone who is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, highly professional and courteous Ophthalmologist.
