Her Soup Kitchen

Very warm hostess and server. Good soups and sandwich. Enjoyed trying the cucumber water, but personally, not a fan...but then I've had to work at liking cucumber. Little tight on space, so if you sit in the back, the kitchen and glasses, etc, is visually not the greatest from an atmosphere perspective. Try to sit more towards the front windows, if you can. Sandwich and soup tastes fresh, tasty and wholesome. Honestly, not sure how it got rated Iowa City's #1 restaurant, but it is good and worth a visit! Bonus: Buy 10 meals and the 11th one is free!

Overall I would say this is a great local place to visit. I think it is overpriced though. I mean, $10 for a VERY small sandwich and a salad? This is a $6-$8 meal because of portion size. However....the sandwich was amazingly good and even the salad was pretty good. The cookies were great. The guy and gal working today were extremely friendly and helpful. I would go back.

Fantastic place for people with dairy and gluten allergies! Staff is always so friendly and food is so top notch for the price!

This place is totally worth every penny you spend! The quality of the food is amazing; so good you want to savor every bite! I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a good and healthy lunch!
