This is a very interesting hiking trail. You start at the Lakemead parking lot. This parking has bathrooms without flush. The trail itself leads to the Hoover dam. In the trail you come across three tunnels which I thought was real cool. I didn’t get to finish as it became dark and at the third tunnel I couldn’t see anything. Take a flashlight just in case you come back late. Along the way you will see beautiful rock formations and a lake that feeds to the dam.

An easy hiking path takes you from the parking area 3.5 miles to Hoover Dam and all the view areas overlooking Lake Mead. You will pass through five old Railroad tunnels on this walk. There are restrooms at the trailhead, at the 2.5 mile point and at the dam and bridge locations. Bring at least two bottles of water per person in the April to June months. July / August is too hot to hike, not recommended.

I have biked this twice, but most recently I walked it. While it's not the most scenic hike I've ever experienced, you get excellent views of the lake and mountains. What sets this apart from other local hikes is the history involved. There are posts along the path that reveal interesting information. When you make it to the end, you have the options to walk to the memorial bridge and Hoover Dam.

This is an amazing hike. Best avoided during the summer, but awesome other times of the year. Great views of Lake Mead. You end at Hoover Dam. You hike through a series of railroad tunnels. Awesome.

Nice flat easy hike, beautiful lake view. Awesome tunnels to walk threw, tunnels are nice and cool on hot days. You can hear the bats in the caves.
