River Mountains Loop Trail

The River Mountains look dead and monotone from a distance, but gorgeous and fascinating up close. Desert Bighorn sheep and great Rock formations. Wild flowers late March to early May. Winter and spring hikes best. Don't try this mid-day between June and September! Take plenty of water.

Good hills to climb, and best bicycle trail to avoid cars on a bicycle ride in the Vegas Valley. I am a slow rider and this 34 mile trail takes me 3.5 - 4.5 hours to circle with one or two rest stops after.during the climb from the Lake Mead beach to Bootleg Canyon Summit on the converted railroad path section. Or a good 50 mile ride from the M Resort Spa Casino on the Henderson's trail, Union Pacific Trail and interconnecting with the River Mountains Loop trail connection to Boulder City and return. Good way to avoid car and truck traffic while riding your bicycle.

Great trail to bike on. I took my 7 yr old on part of the trail and he loved it. Nice views. Bring plenty of water.
