What if one of your favorite places to go was a pub located on the ground floor of a hotel on the edge of Chinatown? Well yes it is! The Channel is both fantastically unique and uniquely fantastic. From their accommodating and attentive staff to their authentic pub fare food choices, we've never had a bad visit to the Channel. Fair notice - if you visit during Police Week (the days before and after June 15th) it's going to be horrendously busy; but in a good way. It will be packed to the gills with Law Enforcement and families from the US and Britain and the staff does their best to shuttle drinks and food through the throngs with good efficiency.

Tom Stack the owner is amazing man. The channel is not a chain Irish pub so rest easy. Been around for 17 years, live music, great place for sports fans, Dan the Head bartender knows what he’s talking about and all the regulars are awesome. Good family vibes and the entire staff makes ya feel at home. The Channel is a staple in Washington, DC and in Chinatown.

I will give this place a two star rating. When we arrived we were greeted quite fast. However after that it was downhill from there. No one came and checked on us after the food was dropped. I had to yell across the bar to get a refill on water, and reason being the cooks servers and bartenders were all at the end of the bar. One girl was even sitting on the bar and they were just talking. In order for me to receive any other service other than our initial drink order I had to actively look for a bartender, and sucks too because there was only two other people at the bar and one table in the restaurant. Which was my only refill mind you. The thing that made me frustrated was several employees walked past and did not check on us. One bartender even looked at the water and just walked away. The food was not that great. We didn’t finish our meal because the lack of flavor. They do have a decent HH with 2$ beers and $5 well whiskey which is great. Maybe if I try again this pub would offer great service, but first time experience was terrible. Not to mention it was my partner and mine three year anniversary. We ended leaving and going somewhere else.

All the staff is awesome and knowledgeable on their drink and menu selection. Super fun time every time! Also, close to where we need to go!

Great service, exceptional staff, and professional, welcoming, and fun. A great place for a happy hour, or just a quick bite, where they make you feel like you've been there a few times that week, even a stranger.
