Best vacation experience! My husband and I rented the Alonzo Dennis property, and my my my.. We could not have directed to a better home. It was large and able to accommodate our family who was coming and going; beautifully appointed, great location and a true representation of how it was described to me prior to booking. Great staff, wonderful Island, wildlife, and the restaurant choices the girls at the office suggested were wonderful!

Outstanding service! We just got home from a week's vacation on the Island. For the most part, the weather was great, lots of places open and plenty to do.. It could have been a bit warmer but hey, vacation is what you make of it. This was my first time renting with Island Getaways and I have to say, it will NOT be my last. I found the staff to be very informative and helpful from start to finish. I was warmly greated upon check in and given lots of useful information about the Island, things to do/see, places to eat (thanks Nikki). Shannon was very knowledgeable about the upcoming events and history of the Island and surrounding areas. I found our unit to be very clean upon arrival and well stocked. When an issue arised with the tv, we were quickly assisted by a staff member who found the problem to be operator error (oops). All in all, everything was wonderful and we will definately be making this a yearly tradition. Looking forward to going again and booking with Island Getaways!

Worst customer service experience from Island Getaways. I called them because our shower was leaking through the kitchen ceiling and their response was completely inadequate. The lady on the phone made it my fault and acted like i woke her from a sleep at 10 am. She never did tell me that she came by when we were gone. The place went downhill from there. The day of check out I expressed my concerns to the front desk staff and she told me to send a detailed email and that the homeowners would receive it. After 3 more emails to the office because of no response the owner Laura finally responded telling me the house WAS spring cleaned, the carpets WERE professionally cleaned, and that the shower leaked because we didn't close the curtain. The counter top was bubbled up clearly because it has happened time and time again. This was not the first time. The home Brant Point shows beautifully online and in person is a total let down. I seen the front staff girl in Dollar General and she asked how things were I told her i was getting some air fresheners. She told me the place has always had a smell. The Dishwasher and washing machine barely work. One of the guest rooms smell terribly of rotten crabs, cobwebs everywhere with spiders, socks behind dressers, mold in bathroom, paint peeling on bathroom walls, filthy furniture with crumbs and stains, nasty carpet, and a huge bubble in the ceiling from a leaking shower. After months of emails they send me a check for $75 bucks to cover what said "Shower" in the memo line of the check. This vacation costs $1,200. NEVER AGAIN will i rent through this terrible company. Also may I add I grew up on Chincoteague, lived there most of my life. I expected more.

We have rented from this company several times in the past, and we've never had a good experience. Their customer service is awful. This last time was the last time. We are not going to give them another chance.
Every one of the rentals are described as having a fully stocked kitchen. But what they mean by this is: there will be a pathetic collection of mismatched, burned, scratched, rusted, and totally unusable cookware. This has been the case at all the rentals.
The cleaning is a joke. I'm not sure they clean after each rental. When we first arrived at our most recent rental, we were greeted by some cereal and a tasty cake wrapper just sitting out on the middle of the floor. Disgusting!
The worst part....we were kept awake at night by the loud chewing of some sort of creature in the walls! All night long! Every night!
Definitely don't rent the Deer Tracks Rental from them!
When we went into the office to check out, we weren't even given an opportunity make them aware of the rodent problem. The employees were too busy having a personal conversation. They gave a curt "checking out", grabbed the keys, and promptly returned to their personal conversation. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. After some polite prompting from my husband, we were finally able to relay the news to them. But again a curt "we'll let the owners know" and quickly returning to the personal conversation. No apology, no sorry, nothing.
I won't hesitate to strongly dissuade anyone who asks about renting from Igetaways.
