I really loved my 3-hour, private guided tour through Central Park with Jared! He’s a fantastic storyteller with a deep knowledge of New York City history which made for endless anecdotes and fun facts. His knowledge is vast and he was very accommodating of any requests we had. I was joined by 3 fellow New Yorkers and we had such a fun time traveling through NYC’s history while discovering unknown gems and secret treasures in the park that we are eager to do another tour with him soon! I highly recommend Jared for anyone that visits NYC!
I've known about Jared's tours for several years and I've been waiting for the right opportunity to take one. That finally happened last week when Jared gave my family a 3 hour walking tour of Greenwich Village. It was worth the wait. Jared clearly knows and loves his subject. Yet he manages to dispense a great deal of information without ever seeming like he's reading from a script. With Jared it's more like having a conversation; within an easy give and take he inserts important context and fascinating details about the part of town that you're walking through. The result is entertaining. We toured a very old street lined with old converted stables which have now been converted to apartments. At some point, Jared mentioned that when cars came to the city they were welcomed for the reduction in pollution that they brought. Huh? We thought cars were the polluters. Jared saw our puzzlement. Then he explained the number of horses that used to inhabit NYC and the resultant volume of manure they produced. It gave us an entirely new perspective on life in old NYC. Jared is a great tour guide and a good person to spend time with. My family and I give him high ratings.
Had a wonderful tour with Jared today. He really took the time to plan out our perfect day packed full of NYC history, interesting facts and stories of the melting pot that is the city and boroughs. He showed us some of the famous and popular NYC landmarks as well as the rare and interesting spots that are typically missed in the “traditional tour.” We enjoyed seeing street art and sculpture, architecture and neighborhoods that let us peek into the rich cultural diversity of the NYC area. Jared found special places for us to view that were unique and showed us the life blood of the city. We tried various street food and sweets. And again, we saw unforgettable art throughout the various Boroughs. It was a phenomenal day that my husband and I will never forget. We highly recommend Jared. He is very professional, knowledgeable and kind. He knew the best route to travel and knew the city and surrounding boroughs very well. Jared is the one to call when needing a private tour guide in New York City.
Jared was an amazing guide. We did a half day tour and we saw so much. We went to Rockefeller center, saw the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, rode the subway, went to Little Italy had the best cannoli ever, went to Chinatown had fantastic dumplings, & ended our tour with the Brooklyn bridge. Jared's knowledge of the city and it's diverse cultures made the tour so memorable. Jared earned the highest compliment I can give a tour guide, "It was like touring the city with an old friend".
We asked Jared to guide a group of three of us. We submitted a special request itinerary and he was able to create an incredible tour based off of what we wanted to see and learn. His knowledge is extensive and he is a lot of fun to hang out with. Highly, highly recommend. He can also show you how to navigate the subways. He is just amazing and well worth it!
We lived in Long Island and traveled to Manhattan often, but this was our first guided tour. It was amazing! Jared was nice, knowledgeable and funny. He got excited every time we said “wow!”. We toured the old New York and Seaport. We’ll definitely take another tour with Jared when we will be back
Jared did a great job leading our four person Lower Manhattan tour. We found him to be interesting and engaging. He did a nice blend of history and the modern day, covering Native American, the Dutch, Jewish, English, and American history of Lower Manhattan. We covered a lot of ground and five centuries. Would hire him again for another NYC tour.
Jared was an excellent tour guide, and was very engaging. He caught on quickly to what me and my grandparents were interested in and helped us explore more of those things. He was very friendly and shared personal connection to what he was showing us. Highly recommend!
