JFK Medical Center

Had an appointment for 12:00. They changed it to 12:30 without notifying me, so I was there an hour early and had to wait in a crowded waiting room with no where to sit. When I checked in I gave them my insurance card (like they always ask for) and they entered all my info in. My insurance changed since the last time I was there, but the doctor apparently didn't know and prescribed me a medication that my insurance will not cover. The pharmacy told me that the doctor would have to prescribe a generic brand medication so that the new insurance would cover it. But don't you think the doctor should have checked before prescribing it to me? They didn't even ask if the insurance changed, so who knows if the receptionists even entered that info in. I wasted 5 hours of my day driving to, waiting, and driving home from the doctor all for nothing. I gave them a call about the whole situation, and no one ever got back to me. So I guess I'm not getting the medication that I need and will be seeing a new doctor from now on.

Emergency department at JFK Hospital is the worst that I have seen. The reason is the staff. How can emergency department staff be so uncaring about about their patients?. I sincerely hope the hospital Administration really make a change in the emergency department staff because people who rely on this emergency room should not need to get care from an uncaring place. I am sorry to say this but that's the truth.

This hospital is not the right place, If you are looking for good care of yourself. I don't know about other departments but their emergency services are horrible. One of my friend's daughter had cut on forehead at her school and it was needed stitches. School sent that girl to JFK emergency at 11:30 morning. This great hospital treated her at 16:30, after 5 hours. Even they called Sergen from outside to do minor stitches. Seriously.. Think about the kid and her parents. Scary Mom, Dad was totally helpless to see their kid crying I don't have daring to use this hospital's services.

I was an in-patient for just under one week. The doctors were superb, however the rest of the staff, including most of the nurses, were awful. This would not be my hospital of choice in the future.

Took my wife here staff was very nice & responded quickly to our problem, we were in & out.
