This is a great campground if you like to hike. I stayed here and hiked the park and preserve trails one day and hiked Glen Helen the next. You can access Glen Helen via the John Bryan trails and you don't need to pay to park in their lot. Both parks are beautiful especially when the trees are bare. Much better views of the water features then.
I took off a star because there was enforcement in the campground on a nice April weekend. A group from the local college came in and took over one area. They were ok for the most part, but I have to wonder if they registered for their camping.

Wonderful little campground. Good restroom, good facilities. Plenty of spots for tents and campers alike. Playgrounds for the kids. An amazing amount of places to hike to in John Bryan State Park from this point.
Great rates. Grilling facilities. A small outdoor theatre. There is an annex part that has plenty of upgraded private spaces for big groups or smaller individual partys.

A great little local campgrounds... I live in Dayton and have been here many times, because it is a well maintained, clean, quiet place, and the staff is always friendly. A great place to "unplug" from this connected world and enjoy being outdoors. My young son and I come here several times each camping season. No matter how many camping trips we do each season, or how far away we go, we will always camp at this place, our camping home away from home!

Large, quite campground with plenty of space between sites. The campground host, Keith, is very friendly and helpful. This was my first time in my new-to-me camper and Keith saved my stay by solving several problems I had.
WARNING! There are NO SHOWERS in the campground. And only pit toilets. BUT, you can buy a shower for $1.00 about 10 minutes away at Antioch College in Yellow Springs.
Plenty of things to do here and nearby. Don't let the shower business keep you from visiting a wonderful SP near Dayton, Ohio.

John Bryan is a lovely campground with nice campsites. I will say that the campsites are a little close together. Our campsite, site 39, I would not recommend. It is close to the shelter house which is inconvenient if the park is hosting an event. Additionally, there is minimal tree cover for the site which means you feel like you are "on display" for the whole campground due to minimal privacy. Additionally, it means that you have no shade from the afternoon sun. This campground does not have flush toilets and no showers (stated on their website). Eas access to a beautiful trail. We would stay here again, just not at site 39.
