Johnny's Italian Steakhouse Eau Claire

I have been to your establishment many times. Today I was there with a friend for lunch. We waited several minutes at the hostess station and no one came to us even though staff members were waiting for a group to come in from a meeting. Finally got the attention of the bartender who was kind and considerate. She apologized that we needed to wait. We ordered our meal and it came in a timely fashion. I had the pasta special. For the price it was an extremely small portion with no bread or additional accompaniment . It said in the description of the meal that it was the chef's homemade cavatappi pasta. Well that isn't the truth as I even know the brand of pasta used as I have used it hundreds of times. We never were asked if we wanted refills of our beverages. An extremely disappointing lunch.

This place was amazing. We showed up with a party of eight and they were quick to get a table ready for that many people. The food was amazing and the service wonderful. My husband absolutely loves the lighting and the atmosphere. Definitely a place we will be returning too when we can

I've been to Johnny's many times for dinner, and I believe they deserve a 5 star review. That being said, I was just there for lunch for my dad's birthday, and was severely disappointed in the lack of service when there was only one other table. I was also sad to learn they didn't have their delicious popovers before 5 pm, which is understandable. We told our waitress we were ready to order, and she said she would be right back, but we waited another 15 minutes. We arrived at 12:45 and didn't receive our food until 2 pm. We also had to find staff multiple times to ask for water, etc. This is not typical of the exceptional service I normally experience during the dinner hours. I will go back, but never again for lunch!

Very impressed. Great atmosphere, service, and, most importantly, food! This place would do well in any major city. Prices very reasonable. Maybe my expectations were a little low due to the location (chain restaurant in a Holiday Inn in a small town...) but I was blown away. I'll be back.

The restaurant is part of the hotel so we ate here multiple times during our stay. Dinner in the restaurant was great. My salmon was wrapped in panko and stuffed. It was delicious as were the sides. My friend enjoyed his steak as well. Our waiter was knowledgeable and offered good suggestions. We also got carry out and ate in our room. Both pasta dishes were excellent. The problem we had was with the breakfast buffett. It was a glorified version of what you usually get at free buffets. Everything I took was cold, we waited too long for anyone to bring coffee and the selection was average. There was a lot of management staff directing things but minimal wait staff and they came around to tell everyone they would be packing things up soon but gave people no time to grab anything before they did. My friend said it was better the day before but it was very bad the day I went. Go for dinner, skip the breakfast.
