Sparta Steakhouse

When I went to this place in August 2011 it took Sparta Steakhouse forty five minutes to get me my steak. I understand that they were very busy but the steak was excellent and was cooked to my specifications and very moist and tasty. Very convenient to downtown, lots of parking, free Wi-Fi, excellent food, friendly & helpful staff and a very cozy environment. check out Sparta Steakhouse for your next meal.

I was so excited to give 5 stars. Tanya was a great server and the atmosphere was cute and clean. I got a meal to go and when I got to my hotel there were no utensils or napkins. I can forgive that. I can eat with my fingers, but I ordered broiled fish which had NO SEASONING AT ALL. Literally NO SEASONING. I like croutons on my salad but the chef obviously dumped the bottom of the critic bag into the lettuce because my salad was coated with a half inch of bread crumbs. The meal comes with baked potato and bun however, there was no butter and the potato wasn’t even cut in half. And considering I wasn’t given plastic-ware, WTH???? The bartender told me I looked young (I’m 45) and she was instructed to check my ID. THIS DOESNT MEAN I EAT BREAD CRUMB SALAD AND DRY BREAD ROLLS AND POTATOES WITH MY FINGERS. Fire the chef and I’ll come back.

One out of two drinks were good. The atmosphere was charming. It has the makings for a nice place. Went on a Saturday at 6:30. They were not overly busy. Sat at the bar for an expensive drink, asked for a table. They did not have one ready. Sat at the bar for an additional 10 minutes. We were the only ones at the bar. They forgot about us. Asked for a table again. Followed the waitress and she quickly set the table. We planned to order the special for around $20+. Waited another 8 minutes the waitress did not come back. We left. For the prices, there has to be exceptional service.

I love a good steakhouse. I ordered a medium ribeye expecting medium rare with a salad and steamed vegetables. I got a rare ribeye. I don't like it when my steak is trying to eat my salad. That was my Sparta Steakhouse experience. If this restaurant can learn to cook steak to the right temperature it'll be good.
