Wish Steakhouse

We went out for a nice meal the day after Valentine's Day, and was beyond disappointed. When you spend $39 on a New York strip, you should expect to be wowed... we were thoroughly unimpressed. It was $40 worth of bland... just for the steak, absolutely nothing special about it. Also, the grilled chicken was supposed to be flattened... it was not, and the herb butter is essentially pesto. The wait staff was slow and unenthusiastic, we literally had to pour our own water. I get that this is Wausau and Wish probably caters to people who are looking for something special and can't afford to visit fine establishments on a regular basis so they just don't know how bad it is, along with the old white men who have money to burn, but this place is absolutely nothing more than a rip off. I can literally make a better steak in my cast iron skillet with a bit of direction from the Test Kitchen. If you really want to do something special and have the time and money, head to A Bartolotta in Mequon, you'll thank me.

Great food and staff. Calamari and filet mignon are really good.

Exceptional steaks. Date night restaurant. Would avoid taking kids.

Outstanding New York strip excellent customer service this is our 3rd trip and has been top notch every time. Hint Hint you got to try the desert in a jar yummmm
