Tornado Steak House

Excellent supper club right in downtown Madison. The location is very cozy and if it’s your first visit or you are unfamiliar with the area you could miss this place. The entrance is very low key. We had the frog leg appetizer (not my cup of tea) but the better half loves em’ and said these were great. I can’t remember what the soup was but it was very good. Both steaks were prepared perfectly an very tasty. I do hate to say it but I had to add just a touch of salt to mine to bring out all the flavor. Desert was a pineapple up side down cake that was great. It was served warm and more than enough for two. The bar selection is like anything that you’d find at any supper club with a full bar and a good wine selection to match. We had an excellent experience, just be ready for approx $75+ a plate for everything. There are cheaper options but don’t go here to cheap out and have the chicken or pasta. You’d be wasting your trip because the steaks are the showpieces.

Belated Mother’s Day evening. A wonderful appetizer and cocktails. Soup and Salad were good. Our main course was fantastic. Nice service, and yummy dessert. Great gathering spot or date night, the bar is fun too.

Great environment, old Wisconsin style supper club. The steak was amazing! Cooked perfectly and had a slight onion flavor to it which made it that much better. Everything we ordered (drinks, appetizer, steak, duck) was delicious. Wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Fabulous service and a delicious meal at Tornado. The sirloin steak, which we've ordered before, was slightly more chewy than I like. But, the flavor was amazing. Sided by their amazing french onion soup and brussel sprouts, it was a superb meal. What made it even better was the excellent service -

The regular menu here is great. This place is amazing. A little known local's secrete, though, is to come late. After 10 PM, the restaurant takes on more of a cocktail lounge feel. The bar downstairs feels like a speakeasy and has the jazz and cocktails to complete the setting. The upstairs portion brings in a late night menu that includes the steak they are famous for, but also a few well prepared pub items like cheese curds. The late night is the best time to show up here.
