Jubilee Joe's Cajun and Seafood Restaurant

The only negative I would give this place is the size of the restaurant being so small. Every time I went there it was very crowded. Last visit we ate at the bar. Otherwise the wait would have been VERY long. Chose to eat at the bar which is not a problem for me. At least I got my beer quickly. Food was great as ever. Minor mix up with my order which was quickly fixed.

I drove a couple hours out of the way on my road trip to check this place out, and I feel pretty dumb about it now. The food was pretty good, but the compliments end there. The waiter barely spoke to us and we had to order as he was running by. We were in a good spot, but it was like we were invisible. The soda machine wasn't working, I had to ask for items multiple times, including silverware. No lemon for the seafood. Oh, did I mention I was celebrating my engagement? Not that the staff even took 2 seconds to talk to me to ever figure that out or anything for that matter. At least the prices are OK. It is probably fine for locals, but if you're looking for something great, memorable, super delicious, or extraordinary, just pass this place up.

Fantastic food. Casual atmosphere. Friendly and efficient staff! Edit 5-25-18. Still one of the top two seafood places in town. Food was outstanding. We try to go there at least once a month.

This was absolutely the best seafood I've ever had in Alabama!! We had the fried green tomatoes and veggie quesadillas for starters, the portions were more than adequate and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The only thing that would've made it better would've been the veggies chopped smaller so a huge piece didn't come out when you took a bite. Seasoning was excellent though. The entrees were stuffed grouper for me and the red snapper for my son. He also got the shrimp bisque, which was simply the most delicious bisque I've had ever. The grouper was cooked and prepared to perfection, as was the snapper. Our server, Eli was super attentive and made our first visit a total pleasure. We will certainly be back!!!

It took a long time for my food to come out. Everyone else in my party had there food and some had the same thing that I ordered. Also when I received my refill of sweet tea it tasted like fish. I brought it to the waiter attention. His response was "is it sweet?". I told him that wasn't the point I don't want drink fish. I think it was some cross contamination somewhere.
