Farewell and Bon Voyage. I still remember dining here with family in 2010. It was quite the experience and the food was excellent.
Such an amazing experience! The staff super friendly and understanding, due to me being a tourist! Loved every moment. This floating restaurant has to be one of the best restaurants that are a float of all time! Would recommend to anyone up for an amazing, fun and brilliant experience! Words can’t describe and the food too :
Interesting, we went with a tour group and the food was ok but we had to eat fast. We asked for water for the kids they only served hot tea so we got a bottle of water and a can of coke it cost $75 HK. Bathrooms were cramped but clean. The boat ride to and from was fun.
This restaurant was hugely overrated and over priced. Its service and food quality were sub-par, but people kept flocking to it because it was "floating". There was nothing to be noticed about the 'floating' experience because the restaurant simply never moved and was simply docked at the marina. The moment it moved, it capsized at sea - which means it never functioned as a floating restaurant. Dinner/lunch at a nearby restaurant overlooking the marina would've given a similar view, better experience and much better food quality and prices
I stumbled on this place while living in Hong Kong years ago. It was amazing. Horrible ending and it seems almost metaphorical for the city and Cantonese culture as a whole. Farewell and farewell to the city we knew as Hong Kong. You can sink the boat, but you don't get to take our memories.
This floating restaurant will forever be etched in my memory of my first plane trip when I was 15 years old on a Boys Brigade trip to Hong Kong 1982. I can recall the loud noise emanating from the gigantic dining halls an all too familiar sounds in most Chinese restaurants in HK!. Too young then to really rate the food obviously nothing of note stuck in recall but just the experience of taking a boat to reach the restaurant stayed in memory bank. Sad to see it sinking last week. Adious!!
What great memories, came to Hong Kong for a visit with my wife in 2010 and we visited the Jumbo, what a treat! So sad to hear it’s gone forever! I hope the owners had it doublet insured so they can keep half the money and invest the rest in building a new bigger jumbo!
I give this restraunt a 1 star review. The food was very salty, I asked for a water and they gave me so much I had to swim for my life. The complimentary life preserver was a nice touch tho.
Great place to take the family if you want a busy day out. It has everything from food to swimming opportunities. Unfortunately a lady named Rose wouldn't share the pool floaties with my family.
ByeBye jumbo!. I never foget your super dining & sweet my memorys with you!!
