One the best Chinese joints in Portland. Huge portions of high quality food. I like spicy and ordered Szechuan chicken. I asked for it to be very spicy. It came out just right. Orange chicken was fab. My wife had the broccoli beef. It was top quality but too mild for my taste. The pork lo mein was delicious.
I used to really enjoy this place, years ago... I ordered the sweet n sour pork which was very small pieces of something that was very dry, the batter on the sweet and sour was crunchy and the sauce left a lot to be desired.. The fried shrimp had a decent batter but the shrimp was small and again a bit overcooked. The service wasn't up to par either, I really was hoping a could have left a positive review however I'm afraid this childhood memory will have to remain just that.
I live close by this place and have been here before and I always get the same thing. This last time I walked in to pick up my phone order and I stated as such, the guy at the register was extremely rude and short with me. However, I let it go because usually the portion sizes and food are so good that they can get away with being rude honestly. I even tipped him generously, regardless. After he motioned to the bag for me to take in the corner I took it home and realized that every single dish I ordered was incorrect. I was missing two items completely, had been given extra rice i did not order. I opened the food I was given and gave it a try anyway, I believe I was given orange chicken and the orange sauce tasted of dish water. I decided that none of this was what I wanted to eat. I'm never a person who takes food back but I packed up my incorrect order and drove back to the rude man who ignored me. I told him I wanted a refund, he brought out 3 different people from the kitchen. All of them argued with me and each other. A woman went back into the kitchen and yelled loudly about the situation. I begged for my money back several times, so I could move on. They did not want to give me a refund and ended up only giving me half of my money back but they took the entire bag of food. About 20 mins later I was sick to my stomach from the few bites of food that I had from their kitchen. I'm never a person who complains but I've worked in food service for 10 years and I will never subject myself to the unprofessional, unsavory and unneighborly demeanor of this establishment and I don't believe you should either. *in response to owners reply. I didn't order orange chicken. That's the sauce you incorrectly gave me. And I was missing another item that you never gave me, so how could I bring it back? Why would i want more food when you are rude and even the incorrect food tasted bad? Also your hostility and argumentative nature is exactly your issue. All throughout these reviews your replies prove that you're unprofessional. Take a business class or watch a Ted talk or something.
Come here if you're looking for the take out experience like the one you had when your parents brought home Chinese take out: nice servers, familiar dishes, large portions. This is a neighborhood American-Chinese place and feels familiar even if it's your first time.
On point once again. Good food good price!! Fresh and a lot for your money. Thanks for dinner! I called for a to go order it was ready fast.
The food was great, and the price was good for the food. The server we had was kind of rude, but I would still go back for the food. Maybe just get take out though.Food: 5/5
This is the worst Chinese food, ever. The egg rolls are filled with some sort of paste and were inedible. Chow mein was anemic and flavorless. Kung Pao had no peanuts and was bland. Really bad food.
Their food is always delicious, the portions are generous, and they get your order to you amazingly fast. The dining room is always spotless.
If your craving Chinese food and on a tight budget, order the lunch specials and split between two people with an appetizer will be satisfying. Wonderful friendly staff.
These people are awesome! We order $100+ worth of food from here once or twice a year. The food is amazing.Food: 5/5
