Go there hungry. Share some appetizers with a good German beer. Entrees are pricey but worth it. The reduction sauce on the peppered steak is amazing. Have their coffee or a cordial with dessert. Make reservations they are always busy for dinner. Relax and enjoy...yum

Good considering in San Diego. Haxe was cold in the center and deep fried rather than grilled. Baked Camembert was also cold inside. GREAT selection of German beers!

My reservation was December 30 at 545 and didn't get seated until 700. After seating took waiter 30 minutes to recognize us. Finally was able to order drinks and didn't receive for another 25 minutes. Was told the kitchen was getting slammed. Not enough servers. The hostess was the busboy. The occupant load for the restaurant is 90 people but there must have been 175 there between the dining room and bar areas. When the food finally arrived around 845 was good but not overly warm as if sat under a heat lamp for awhile. Didn't leave until 915 for a 545 reservation. Not the first time having to wait with reservations here but nothing like this. Any other time would give a 4 star for food and atmosphere. Will not be back.

Outstanding food and service. Hands down the best German restaurant in town. It's authentic food with some great tasting beers.
