Kounter Kulture

My kids went to preschool a block from here back when this was a pastry joint. I moved away from Saint Louis last year before I had tried this location's new business: Kitchen Kulture. On this visit a good friend brought me back. I'm so glad he did. The dishes are delicious, varied, and unique. Chris, who helped us order for a party of five, was a delight. Everything I tried (we ordered six dishes and I tried all of them) made my taste buds sing. Try this place if you haven't already. You won't regret it.

Excellent takeaway! Very very friendly here. The meals are definitely different than your usual South City fair but that's what makes Kounter Kulture unique. If you're unsure about something on the menu (usually some kind of Korean preparation that you've never heard of) ask for a taste, they're happy to oblige. If you call ahead 10 to 15 minutes it's ready for pick up when you get there or they're happy to delay the order until a specific time. If you do end up waiting for them to make your food they often serve an amuse-bouche to tide you over while you're waiting!

This little hole in the wall was absolutely fantastic!! I found them on Yelp and the food was excellent, as was the service. Very creative and flavorful, plus fun! We were even given a harvest salad to share and little hummus cups for appetizers, compliments of the chef. The ice cream was also excellent. Hands down, best part of this trip! Prices were also more than reasonable for the quality and care. Thank you!

Not only is the food really good, the service is excellent. The lady behind the"kounter" is really considerate. The food is tasty, unique and worth going back for. And when I got back, I see that my parcel had a surprise snack. I really love the mentality of service! Will definitely be back for more.

Absolutely delicious, creative, high-quality carryout food with locally-sourced ingredients. The steamed buns are delicious. The soup, starters and specials I have tried have all been excellent. Kounter Kulture makes for a luxurious night in or stay and eat in their outdoor seating when the weather is nice for a charming, yummy evening out!
