My husband and I had our reception here a while ago. The location was great for us, the building was cute and the right size. I liked that the guests could flow in and outside if they wanted because of the nicely manicured lawn. The gentleman who took care of the decorating and coordinating did a wonderful job. The food was also good. However, there were other things I was unhappy about. To start with, we purchased a tent and it rained the whole day. It wasn't set up, which is understandable, but we never received the approx. $70 we were charged. The only other extra expense we had that night was one bottle of sparkling cider, which cost around $15. That does not add up and we never received any money back. My cake decorator said that when she came in to set up, some of the staff (teenagers) were standing around eating the cake pops that I had brought in for my guests. When I had ordered the food, I had chosen one specific thing and was waiting for the final draft of the contract to come in for me to sign to finalize everything. The lady I was working with had told me it would take about 2 weeks for the contract to come in. It took at least 3 weeks. Before I received the contract, I was told the price of the food I had chosen had gone up (by a few dollars a plate) and that they would not honor the pricing of what I had previously ordered. (This part is in the contract, however if it had been sent in the time I was told, there wouldn't have been a problem.)The justification of not honoring the price was because the lady who told me the contract would only take 2 weeks to receive my contract was a new employee. Previously, during my visitation, we also discussed a time when decorations could dropped off . I was told I could bring decorations and things in the day before the wedding. Then, the week of the wedding I was called and informed that I had to bring my things the morning of the wedding because they had a last minute event scheduled. The last thing, I had brought in a cake serving set upon request of the contract. They were silver plated. When they gave me the box of things back, I had a set that wasn't mine. Inside was a pair of cheap set with fake diamond handles. They said those were the only ones they found.

Good food but service was poor. Didn't keep things filled, even the coffee ran out. Sandwich bar was very basic. Soup was tasty.

Lady J's/Tom O'Leary golf course is one of the best wedding venues in Bismarck. Great service, decent food and a good indoor/outdoor space for ceremony & dance.
