I ordered a lobster roll and cup of clam chowder. Service was fast, and attentive, food was absolutely delicious. The lobster roll is an stunning half pound of goodness that was tender, buttery, and oh so flavorful lobster served in a toasted roll with butter drizzled all over with fries and slaw as sides. It was so good, and so filling I was barely able to finish half before I had to tap out. The clam chowder is one of the best I've ever had the luxury of tasting. Will definitely return.
Had dinner here during my second day in Boston, had the clam chowder and oysters. Both were excellent. Ordered half a dozen oysters minimum order, they were fresh and sauces were good. The clam chowder might be one of the best I’ve ever had, served with bread biscuits. Good service and atmosphere. I heard that Legal Sea Foods are only in Boston so I guess it’s a must-try if you’re visiting. The prices are on the higher-end so I would only have the occasional meal here.
Walked by and was drawn in by the ambience. The food didn’t disappoint either. Service is on point. Had everything we wanted, and an inviting place for a good long chat. Glad we came across a nice restaurant as such. Start with the oysters and end with the cappuccino! You won’t go wrong.
It’s delicious Scampi shrimp very recommended But portion for 3 at least so be ready or very hungry I did it and now sitting at work with food belly
I stopped in here for a quick rest stop. Ordered a bowl of clam chowder, half dozen oysters and a Pom & Rose Lemon Drop cocktail. Phenomenal! The flavors from the oysters and lemon drop especially played well with each other, mad for a scrumptious combination. Plus the bartender was so friendly in finding the ideal drink for me. Will be back again!
Such a peaceful location. Fast service. Delicious food. You should try their Rockefeller Oysters.Recommended dishesGreek Salad, Oysters Rockefeller
Not from the area, but every time I come to town having Legal is an absolute MUST. I don’t say that lightly, there are few restaurants in the country I feel deserve a visit every time I am around them. The lobster roll is the best I have found. Brought my wife for her first visit to Boston and she already wants another. Don’t hesitate after seeing the price, it is worth every penny.
Really depends on what you order here; it's really a hit or miss The clam chowder was absolutely amazing, and one of the best I've ever had; it was well seasoned and very generous with the clam. The Lobster Roll was also great with a delicious buttery roll. The grill items however were quite disappointing; ordered the salmon cooked rare and ended up with a medium well cooked fillet instead. It was underseasoned and the sides were also overcooked.
The food and drinks were pretty good. The crab cake was delicious. The service was terrible. It’s pretty obvious that the staff are inexperienced and untrained. None of the dirty dishes were removed from the table throughout the meal. We probably would have ordered more drinks and dessert if the server had ever come back to the table to ask if we needed anything.
Host and waitress polite and efficient. Place well decorated and clean. Beer cold! Crab had the taste of wet tissue, and fish tacos not much better, work on the food cuz all else is good.
