Maine Kayak Muscongus Bay Base

We did the sea kayak camping trip last week with Hauns as our guide. It was beyond excellent. We were both new to sea kayaks and we learned a lot about proper form and safety. We first met up to pack our kayaks with the guide and other people on our trip. He. We paddled out to an island where we set up camp and had lunch before leaving for a longer afternoon paddle, which included a stop at warm island cove to swim. After about 8ish miles of paddling, we returned to camp. Our guides made us dinner and we watched the sunset and the stars come out on the island rocks, before falling asleep to ocean sounds. In the morning Hauns made us coffee and Maine blueberry pancakes. We broke camp and paddled a few miles for delicious lobster at Round Pond, and them we started back to our starting point. While on the trip we saw a bald eagle, seals, and numerous other birds that I can’t remember the names of. This was such a great experience, and Hauns was a great guide. He is a wealth of knowledge about kayaking and Maine, and I hope we can return and book another trip through Maine Kayak.
