McCarthy & Bailey's Irish Pub

We called on Saturday to see if it would be possible to make a reservation. We were told no, first come first served which is fine. I asked if we'd have any trouble getting a table at 5:30 and he said, it shouldn't be a problem however he couldn't say because there was a big concert in town Saturday night (Little Big Town). We arrived about 5:20. Took awhile to get anyone to take a drink order, took awhile to get our drinks and then we ordered food. They did advise their computer was down so it was causing some issues. We were asked again what our order was because he thought our food was ready and about 10 minutes later we received our food. We asked for silverware and napkins and it was placed on our table. Two of the four meals were nice and hot the other two had been sitting somewhere as they were cool. I don't believe it was only a computer glitch it was clearly a lack of help on a already anticipated busy night. Sad that it was our friends first experience at this restaurant. It will be a long time before we go back. Very poor service and food prep.

I’ve been here a ton of times in the past and it was pretty good but when my friend and I went Saturday morning (03/03/18) I might have received the worst meal in my life. The server was nice, but I don’t know what the heck the cooks in the back were doing. I ordered biscuits and gravy and when I got it, there were literally 2 small HAMBURGER BUNS under some very gross pasty looking gravy. It also came with two eggs that weren’t fully cooked.... My friend and I waited about 30 minutes to get this food as well, which doesn’t make sense because by the looks of it, it couldn’t have taken more than 5 minutes to throw together & call it good. I didn’t take one bite and actually lost my appetite after looking at my order.. I took pictures of the food because I just couldn’t believe it. The pictures below are what I was served. I put the hot sauce on some of it because I was considering eating it to not be a "jerk" but my stomach said "NO WAY". I remember this place being way better in the past .. more than likely won’t be coming back.

Great food. Fish and chips are the best! Service a bit slow but server was friendly and doing his best. Would definitely recommend this place.

This place rocks! Such great atmosphere, so close to the Sioux City nightlife and the food is awesome. Will return again and again I'm sure.
