I've never had mead, so it was an enlightening experience when I wandered into this tavern for glass with some friends. The place was pretty quiet at noon on a Saturday, and we were promptly seated upon arrival. The food and service quality were all solid and par for any bar/pub you'd want into, though I focused more on the mead itself since it was such a novel thing to me. I can only describe the house brew as being an interesting cross between a lager and a dessert wine, leaning more towards a lager in characteristics. I can't say I fell in love with the flavor and texture, but I'd definitely give another type of mead a try the next time I come back. If this was helpful, please consider a thumbs up. It would be greatly appreciated!
Echoing what everyone else has said: definitely a great place to grab drinks. They have two menus dedicated to alcohol, one whole menu for beer and another slightly smaller menu for liquors, ports, Mead, wine, etc. It does get loud so intimate conversation isn't going to happen well but it is good for large groups. I got the fish and frites and thought it was quite decent. It was immensely overpriced $18 but it was otherwise enjoyable. The fish was well battered but not flavorful. The fries were shoestring and the right amount of salty and crunchy. The remoulade was subtle and tasty but it lacks the boldness of standard tartar. The cole slaw was flavorless and soft. The baked Mac and cheese was delicious and the Wurst plate wasn't worth the price.
It definitely was a corporate meet-up spot. The beer selection wasn't wide and a little pricey-but adequate for their intended audience. It was okay for a German beers and fries. The servers are okay. Nothing to write home about but good for getting drinks with coworkers after a long day.
This place is a Craft Beer heaven! 100 taps and bottles. They even had KBS on tap. Food was not bad either and the place looks good, a mix of classy bar and sport pub. Will come back.
Super ridiculously amazing beer selection. Like it's a little overwhelming. Definitely ask your server for recommendations, you won't be sorry. The food is also top notch. The fries and black beer burger vegetarian, not vegan are delicious. The fries are shoestring and super crunchy, the black bean burger is homemade and so delicious. Definitely recommend.
This place has a nice atmosphere but pretty average food. The prices tend to be on the higher side. I ordered boneless chicken wings for $12 and it was a pretty small plate granted it says on the menu. They were more nuggets than boneless wings. The chicken was pretty juicy but really plain on the inside. I had to dip them in a lot of sauce for them to taste good. I suggest the chili sauce over the bourbon bbq if you’re gonna choose one aaice
Great beer selection. Had no problem spending a few hours here. The food was also tasty!
Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Great beer selection and service. I'll be returning when I'm in Boston again.
Great albeit smaller than usual selection if beers. The poutine, sliders and mac and cheese are excellent!
The food here was good enough pub fare, but the real draw is the large number of beers available. I only was able to try a couple, but had some of a mixed drink as well. I found the atmosphere and location to be great. I'll definitely visit again when I come to boston/Cambridge in the future.
