Mercury Insurance Co-Florida

They are the worst, if only there was an option to give them a zero star rating. I called them more than 5 times to cancel the policy and they kept pushing it back to take my money. I went to their office to "fill out paperwork" to cancel the policy but the agent gave me a blank sheet of copy paper to sign. There was no formal cancellation form at all. They have the worst customer service ever.

Left Progressive for them because I was leasing a new car and they were the cheapest. Every 6 months my policy went up by $10 a month. (With Progressive it'd usually get cheaper every month) When I got rid of the leased vehicle and no longer needed full coverage I couldn't make policy changes online or through customer service. I had to call my agent (granted they were open) which was 3 hours away now as I moved. I told the woman at Mercury that I can't get ahold of my agent and I'm on my way to the dmv now and need the new car covered, she said I had to wait for the agent to call me back. Worst customer service ever and I'm sad they ever got my money. I've seen companies that have poor rates OR customer service but Mercury will give you both. I went back to progressive today and I'm paying nearly $800 a year less, and haven't had to deal with an agent.

I don't even want to give them one star but google won't let me post otherwise..... I'm giving them 0 stars. they are the biggest rip off ever. nothing but a big scam. My father is 7 years old, and disabled. he got mercury last year and it was $ 128 a month. now when he up for renewal they raised it $40 more a month , he's never had an accident or a ticket. They told me the reason why was all year long there had been a "computer glitch" giving people discounts they didn't qualify for. So my dads new premium was going to be $40 more a month. What?? A computer glitch?? What the hell?? Who has even ever heard of that?? Ok so you want me to believe there was a computer glitch for a whole year giving people discounts?? Ummm??They are just a scam....it's ok we're dropping them tomorrow....looses....computer glitch my ass....
