I have never been so disappointed. We have great insurance, have almost fully paid our deductible and we’re charged a 300+ facility fee for using EKG equipment. That’s just the bill for the facility fee, too. The physicians made less money during BOTH episodes of care around $37 and $84 to be exact, and that’s two different specialty care doctors. People wonder why we have a doctor shortage. My husband’s episode of care is preventative. He has had a heart condition since birth. This type of claim should be considered preventative and covered by the plan, but take note — Mercy charges the facility fee. This isn’t the health plan. It is shameful to surprise bill patients during a time of record high inflation. I also hope this hospital is familiar with the attention being paid by lawmakers who are very concerned about surprise billing and lack of transparency in coverage!
I got stitches at the emergency room and I called to get them removed after 10 days, like they said. When I called them, they transferred me to the emergency room to schedule an appointment. The person who took the call was the rudest most crude person I’ve ever talked to. She yelled at me and said she doesn’t schedule appointments at emergency rooms. Well, why did they transfer me to the ER to make an appointment then? I tried asking her who I should call to get my stitches removed then, and she pretended not to hear what I said and yelled at me again saying she’s not making appointments at the ER. This hospital is rude, disorganized, and fails to care for their patients. I don’t think I will go there again, and I’m telling everyone about my horrible experience there. I just wish I got the name of the person who answered my phone so I can report or sue her. Patients are supposed to be treated with care not verbally abused.
I had a lot of pain in my left shoulder for 10 months. I met DR.Nicholas got an injection, and the staff member kindly explained to me, who is not good at English. Now I am not afraid to visit Marcy Hospital. Dr.Nicholas is a very good Dr.
This has been a total joke. I came in with severe chest pain. After a EKG and a chest X ray I was told to wait. 4 hours later no one has said a word to me about my condition or results from the tests. I was told by the nurse that it must not be serious. In the meantime I sit in a waiting room not knowing anymore than when I got here. SMH
I will probably never come back here again. I've been sitting in the waiting room for now, 7 hours. No one had given any updates on intake, or communicated anything. Just sitting here in excruciating pain. I'd have been better off going literally anywhere else. It's a shame, I've been coming here for the last 8 years as my main hospital when my back acts up, but never again.
Worst hospital experiences of my life. Staff at all levels are wholly incompetant and rude. Consistent mischeduling and cancellations. Horrible trashy attitudes from all front desk and admins. Only grace is their doctors. I am 100% with this hospital and am considering a tattoo that says I'd rather be left to die than go to this hospital EVER again.
I’ve been coming here for treatment since 2011. The gynecological oncology department is stellar. The staff is always kind, caring, and warm. If you need to see something beautiful make a trip the chapel of light. It’s uplifting.
You are better off going to cvs to get medical help from this people. I encountered one of their staff, Liz Lykens, she was so disgusting and treated me like a parasite. I don’t think she was a nurse there but my encounter with her in the lobby was purely racially motivated!! Run away!!!!!!!!! If I could give this hospital 0, I will!!!!!
Naquesta Smith is a great Phlebotomist!! She was gentle and got the job done in one try! I would suggest the hospital have her help on the iron infusions side also. She deserves recognition for her great work!!
My husband has been trying to get some kind of care because of his Endocarditis for the past 3 days. He sits for hours constantly asking if they had call his name when he goes for restroom breaks and/or asks if they have any beds for him. For 3 days this is a nuisance! He was supposed to have heart surgery yesterday at 2 pm. Arrived at 1:30 pm and sat there waiting until 6:30 pm with a blood pressure of 95/72.. I read these reviews and I ask myself 'why is this hospital/staff treating their patients this way?". This is horribly aweful...
