Mind Springs Health - Glenwood Springs

If I could give a negative amount of stars, I would do that. Agreed on the inaccessibility of the services. We make too much money to qualify for a discount, but not enough to afford to live in this valley and pay upwards of $1700/month for health insurance. We've been seeing a private counselor for over a year, and that person recommended a child psychiatrist (who is only accessible through Mind Springs). Though we've already spent a small fortune on counseling, we would be required to see one of THEIR counselors in order to get in with the psychiatrist - a referral from our counselor doesn't count. That would be $200 out of pocket. For this, they don't schedule appointments, it's on a walk-in basis. The doors open at 8am, no earlier, and they have 2 appointments available based on the order in which you walk in the door. This means possibility of multiple days taken off as a teacher, requesting a sub and all that's involved, just for a CHANCE that we'll get an appointment. If we're the 3rd person in the door, well sorry I guess you have to try again tomorrow. More money down the drain. Then, once you're lucky enough to get an appointment and a referral, then the psychiatrist costs $420. Forget it, we'll drive to GJ if we have to, to be able to actually schedule an appointment and spend less money and stress to get there. Whoever came up with this ridiculous system needs to be fired!

WARNING!! Not accessible. Incompetent, rude, patronizing, and condescending staff. This aggressively cold and heartless place makes one not want to get any care. Was in HOLD trying to get through to crisis for 40 minutes. They make one MORE suicidal. Also, they discriminate against the disabled and service dogs and are not obeying the Disability Act guidelines. Horrible place. It's no wonder so many in the community prefer to give up with these people and get no care!

I have not seen treatment of this kind in many years.i heard the employees talking about what ice cream they were going to get for an hour and a half.it truly seems that the employees are there for a paycheck and should consider a field outside of realm of possibly working with a person in need of care.SHAME!
