The food is delicious! Thelma even asked if everything was alright which I thought was great customer service...not too much talking while I was eating. All you can eat Sunday buffet was decently priced! The mac n cheese was THE BEST! Fried chicken was great too!

I stopped in for lunch during jury duty as the restaurant is right across the street. While I Was there during the lunch there were only 2 or 3 other customers. Not sure why but part of the reason is the seating area is uncomfortable and it felt like I was eating in an unlit classroom vs. a dining room. The food was excellent. I had the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese with green beans and of course the signature corn bread. The price was reasonable. I think this restaurant could take off especially after a remodel. I would come again but really wish the dining experience was better.

OH BOY! If you have eaten real "sOUL FOOD" then you would know that this ain't it. My husband ordered the ribs, which did not fall off the bone even when he cut it with a knife. The string beans still had the long string still hanging from them. So that killed his appetite. I myself ordered(to be safe) once I sampled his food😒 a hot dog which tasted like it was not done,the bun fell apart once I began to take a bite which indicated to me that it was stale.The waitress couldn't multitask or answer any questions without saying first" I'm not sure if we have that I will have to look first" and never came back to actually tell us if they had what we ask her for. Finally I gave thelma's 2 star's because the best part of going to thelma's was the parking which was right outside of the restaurant. Bottom line: save your money the food taste's like it was made by someone who was just starting to learn how to cook. You will be better off just going to a friends house who's mom can cook good ole fashion "SOUL FOOD"

Over all the meal was delicious.  I wish the chicken were bigger.  The customer service was wonderful... A delight to meet.

I gave this place a 2nd chance. 1st time I wasn't impressed. I ordered take out and I didn't like the food. I really wanted to try again so my daughter and I went and decided to stay. There were no other dining customers so I was nervous. The decor needs updating badly  but we still took a chance. One waitress handling tables and take out  all at the same time. Take out was somewhat busy. I ordered fried whiting, mac & cheese and green beans. My daughter had the chicken, same sides. It took forever to prepare but when we finally received our food, it was really good. The only exception was the mac & cheese could've been more hot. I would actually go back.
