Truly a beautiful and amazing place to see! Had to go twice to see all of it and I'm still not sure we have seen it all. The story is amazing and the tour is so helpful but then you will want to walk back threw the church on your own to read and truly see more! It's breathtakingly beautiful.... Bring lots of water and sunscreen if you plan on walking the grounds aswell as the church. The restaurant is small but the food is so worth the wait if it's busy..the shops and shop workers are nice as well. The staff is very helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have.

This place was very neat to learn the history and magnificent to see. Make sure to visit the shops in the plaza and by the parking areas, there is some beautiful jewelry to offer. There is no cover parking and very little shade unless you are in the Mission itself so bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. This place is still an active church, so the halls were narrow for a stroller to go through but we fit! Great history and beautiful location.

The initial construction and the subsequent restoration were both amazing undertakings. We were very impressed. My 2 favorite things were the mouse and snake door handles and the painting of Mary changing Jesus’ diaper. So interesting!

The history of the church and mission is fascinating. Originally, this part of Arizona was considered “New Spain” and the Jesuits founded the church. Spain “kicks out” the Jesuits and the Franciscans arrive. Mexico claims it’s independence form Spain and this area becomes Mexico until the USA purchases the area, through the Gadsden Purchase, to construct train tracks to California. The church was originally constructed beginning 1783 and more or less finished in 1797. The architecture is Mexican Baroque. Parts of the church are very ornate, others very plain. Definitely worth the visit.

Recently I rode my bike out to the Mission and I have to say that every time I visit this Treasure in the Old Pueblo, I am always amazed at its BEAUTY. It's like a mini Sistine Chapel in the desert. The history of its origin is such an amazing story, and the architecture is a site to behold. I recommend visiting this Historical Mission whether you are local, visiting from out of state, or from out of the country. Don't forget your camera, this pictures are stunning!
