Mountain Jacks Steakhouse

Best restaurant in Lafayette. Classic, Indiana steakhouse with hot shrimp cocktail and excellent crab cakes. The steaks and prime rib are great, too. They do a table-side salad bar that is really nice.

My husband and I ate here 4/ 14/18. Great service and delicious food! Unique way of serving their salad. They bring a mini salad bar to your table. You get plenty of food and the prices are not bad. Will definitely be going back.!! The manager was out and about and stop by our table to see how we were doing. :) So glad we stopped here to eat.

This was my first time visiting and overall it was good not great. I will break down each part of the meal. The sweet tea was excellent. The bread was just average (Similar to longhorn's bread). They can make your salad tableside and it was very good. They are known for their prime rib so I thought I'd try it and it was just alright. I would definitely try something else next time. The service was great and very friendly. The atmosphere is nice but not so nice you feel like you need to dress up. I got broccoli and au gratin potatoes for my sides and both were just average. We got a chocolate mousse cake dessert and it was amazing! I would definitely go here again but wouldn't call it a must try if in the area.

My wife and I enjoyed a Valentine's Day dinner that was just perfect. The server was great and the food was delicious, as well. It is a little more expensive than Outback or Longhorn's, but worth it for the great food and ambience. Definitely make a reservation if you are planning on dining during a peak period.

We used to go to Mt. Jack's annually for our anniversary. For the past several years we go several times a year because we have grown to really enjoy seeing the owner, mamangers and some special servers and the delicious foods that are tops. The atmosphere is so pleasant. You really must try their shrimp, Steak Neil and carrot cake. Visit soon and make it your special place for dates and taking guests to.
