I love coming here to walk it's just the right distance not so far that you're finding yourself fatigued but long enough that you could have nice solid walk. What I really love it's nice and flat and it's a very picturesque. The dam and the reservoir are absolutely beautiful and I can't help but take pictures every time I come. It's a really wonderful place to come and take a walk and it's never overly busy and you can always find parking.

Review of reservoir: two parking lots, one off of Town Bridge Road in Canton, the other off Route 202 in New Hartford. Newly paved flat path with partial shade and views of reservoir, especially from dam. Easy to traverse from one parking lot to the other, but this is not a 'loop'; round trip is 1.9 miles. Very wide path accommodates cyclists & pedestrians. I enjoy walking while my kids ride scooters. Lovely vistas & bird watching. Lots of evergreen trees. No restrooms. Not lit in the evening. No access to water. No picnic tables. No trash bins. Dog walking is permitted, but you must clean up. MDC security regularly monitors.
