New York Water Taxi

Few months ago, when new management came aboard, the ferries kept honking their horn, which was very annoying in the early mornings and late evenings. Gladly, after a few months, they stopped. I think they realized they need not show off. These ferries are more reliable than the subway despite the weather. It used to be more expensive. But they reduced the fee, which is really good. I think a lot more people find it affordable. The number of passengers surged especially on weekends because a lot people visit the nearby park.

Carefully read the signs for ferry schedules in order avoid disappointment. They have different schedules for weekdays and weekends and the weekend ticket is actually more expensive. The MTA card for the subway and buses cannot be used here. Tickets are bought from the vending machine near the pier. The ferry did arrive on time when I visited. For those wishing to hop to Brooklyn Bridge or Manhattan, this is faster and more convenient, but more expensive, than the subway or bus.

Horrible experience. Bought tickets in advance. No notice of reduced service for the holiday. No notice of reduced and altered bus routes. Walked from GCT. Waited 2 hours for final boat at SSSP to get turned away.

Paid using our debit card and had our card info stolen and used at lowes. 728.00 this guy spend on our card..use cash only!!
