NJ Fix My Dog

After 4-5 months of puppy and adolescent dog training, my very sweet but very precocious 7 month old hound mix wasn’t improving her poor behaviors much despite a lot of energy and attention. There was little improvement with jumping or nipping visitors and grandchildren, no matter how many times she was corrected utilizing the ‘positive reinforcement only’ techniques taught exclusively at the very popular dog training facility near my home. There was also the incessant barking while in her crate and the constant nuisance barking whenever she spotted a neighbor or a neighbor’s dog… 5 months of maddening attempts to correct this behavior with little to show for all the positive reinforcement and attention she was given. Frustrated to say the least, I contacted Jean and she said she was confident these issues could be addressed in one, or possibly two, two hour sessions. Although it made sense to me, I had my doubts it could be done that quickly but after hearing about her philosophy and how it differed from the current mainstream training techniques, I was more than willing to give it a shot. Well… to my utter amazement I had a different puppy after two hours. The nuisance barking has stopped, she stays in her crate completely quiet for hours on end, and most importantly, her jumping and her nipping has (almost) completely stopped and stops immediately after a slip up with a quick correction. She has also improved with recall at a distance and obeying other commands that always needed a treat bribe in the past. All this in less than a week with most of the benefit coming within the first day. Walking with her is now a pleasure rather than a constant correction for pulling as well… I could not recommend NJ Fix My Dog more! Please, do yourself a favor – take your new puppy to puppy kindergarten for socialization and then save your $$$ on any more ‘positive only’ dog training classes. Hire Jean and NJ Fix My Dog and train your dog right avoiding the months of unnecessary worry and aggravation I just went through.

Jean was fantastic! With her help, I was able to correct my dog's behavior within a day. It was almost unbelievable how quickly it happened. Highly recommend!!!

I've been watching the Dog Whisperer for awhile, but always thought it was entertainment and all fake. I was having issues with my Bulldog Bosco. I decided to reach out to Jean. She told me that she could have all or most of my issues fixed in one session. I was extremely skeptical. I had Jean come by. I was in complete shock. My Big bad Bulldog crawled over to her and listened to every single word she said. I couldn't believe what I was watching. I tell everyone about my experience. If you are having issues with your dog, I wouldn't recommend anyone other than Jean. I spend hundreds of dollars on training that did nothing. One session with Jean and I got all I needed and then some! It also helps that she'll have you crying laughing the whole time too.

I initially invested a lot of time and money into a positive reinforcement dog trainer for our new puppy, Rubble. Well after a good month or so, Rubble was getting bigger and more out of control by the day. Between the jumping on the furniture, nipping at the kids, chewing everything but his own toys...I was beginning to lose my mind! He basically wouldn't even acknowledge any discipline unless there was some sort of treat in my hand. Which does me no good because its impossible to always have a treat on hand. At this point I decided to cut my losses with the other trainer and started to do a lot of research on hiring a new dog trainer. I must of contacted another 5-6 different dog trainers and Jean truly had the only practical and logical approach. She is very realistic and very wise when it comes to understanding a dogs behavior and how they interact with us humans. I would have to assume she is one of the top in her field. After Jean visited Rubble and I it was very clear how backwards all my training was up to that point. She showed me how to handle all of his bad behaviors and he immediately responded to it. It was almost like our dog was begging for some sort of discipline in his life and Jean knew the exact tools to accomplish it. The days before Jeans visit I must of pulled the dog off the furniture 15-20 times a night....since Jeans visit he has only made one attempt. That is not a fluke, that's because our dog is finally understanding the rules and boundaries of our house....something the positive reinforcement dog trainer just couldn't teach. She was also a huge help with leash walking! Previously our puppy was very difficult to move forward on walks and literally within a couple laps around the block with Jean he was walking with very little tension on the leash. The previous trainer had me luring him along with dog treats...that yielding me about a total of 100 feet per walk...on a good day. Today Rubble walked an easy half-mile with no issues....and that was without a single treat in my hand. To simply put it, you would be insane to work with any other dog trainer than Jean! -MP
