This place has been extraordinarily well-kept. There is a lot of Rich history here. If you get a chance to go upstairs and check out the State Library, it is totally worth it, especially if you're a history buff. The grounds around the Capitol Building or also a great place to sit down and have a nice picnic. Also don't forget to leave a letter for the governor and let them know what you think ;)

One of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the U.S., dating back to 1840. Though it may look downright modest compared to other states' more embellished capitol buildings, its lack of ornamentation is simply a reflection of NC's historical status as a "vale of humility between two mountains of conceit." Beautiful grounds as well.

Well preserved old state house. Very interesting place to visit and learn about the local history. The grounds are also nice with nice plants and statues.
