Bought a home from them that another family built but couldn't close. They asked us to close in two weeks so it would be off the books before the end of the year. In exchange they paid for some closing cost but also said they would pay for landscaping and told us it would be done in the beginning of April. It's now just about may and we have no yard still. They won't fix the problem or get back to me. Go somewhere else for a new home. Also our pipes froze three times because they forgot to put insulation in the walls.

This was a fairly pleasant experience as far as home buying goes, but with Oakwood I have to stress the importance of asking questions. In my experience, Oakwood tends to leave out important information concerning certain aspects of your future home. If there is something you want to know, ask in advance. Other than that, Oakwood sells a decently made home at some of the lowest prices in town. I'm currently happily living in ~1900 sqft home that only cost me $330,000. For a home in Denver, thats a good deal.

Bought a new house from them years back. They never honored their warranty to fix a sliding door that was installed incorrectly. I never used the sliding door and finally a few years later I installed a new one.
A couple of years ago I bought another Oakwood home that was only 4 years old and had been prewired for two AC's by them. I tried installing AC but one of the wires was not done correctly, I talked to several people in the company to come and take a look but they said we only have one year warranty. The wire went no where, so I had to pay another $500 to run another high capacity wire from the Compressor to the Panel.

Nothing but problems with this builder. HORRIBLE. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. We've been fighting for the last year and a half to have things fixed that we pointed out BEFORE we even closed on the house. Now we LITERALLY have our siding falling off our house, and Oakwood is washing their hands of the problem stating issues with the siding supplier. They had to re-do the entire drywall on our second floor TWICE because they use cheap unskilled labor, requiring us to completely move out of our house twice after move-in... The list is so long and this is only part of it. Please please please, just look elsewhere when finding a builder. These houses are cheap for a reason and they won't stand behind the work once you close... And don't think this is just us. Our entire development is falling apart and Oakwood won't do anything. Don't believe us, search the Denver news channels as they did a story on us last year.
