My parents bought an "off road" house near Ocotillo Wells SVRA and I literally ride no where else. This is California's best kept off road secret. This place is MASSIVE and you can ride all day long and not see the same trail twice, except when you need to get back home. Even though the place is massive, it is difficult to get lost thanks to Pole Line road. Just look for the telephone poles and you should be OK. I ride a 2004 KTM MXC 525 and it loves the place...so does the rider. :-)

This place is a ton of fun! So many places to ride and camp. It starts to get busy Friday night thru the weekend. Weekdays are pretty light. Holiday weekends are also super busy. It can be pretty hot up until early November. A lot of the area is also safe for novice riders while still offering some challenges if you want them. It can be easy to get lost so always carry a map or GPS. Hills seem closer than they really are and I found that I could easily end up much further away from camp without realizing it. - Clean toilets and showers (Not free) - No water or electricity hookups (except at RV park near by) - No gas (30 miles away) - No light pollution so stargazing is amazing. - Cell service is spotty once you leave the road.
