This is my third stay in the last 2 months. The campgrounds are nice and well kept, bathrooms are clean and I can’t say enough about the camp host. Judy and Ernie have been so,accommodating and helpful. Judy always greets you with a smile and will personally show you the site and even help guide you in. On this trip Ernie offered to help me out by cutting a wood board I had brought but was to big for under my stabilizers.. unknown to me the camp store located down by the visitor center closes at 3pm So I asked judy if there were any soda machines where I could get a coke,(;unfortunately no) she then went into her trailer and brought out two cold cans of coke. Thank you both for your help and generosity. Look forward to seeing you on my next stay.

Haven't been to this park before. Went to Salton City about 30 years ago. Love how surreal the place was then and is now. Beautiful in an odd way, as well as the wildlife too. Got there late for day use, but great time for nice lighting for photos. Loved seeing all the birds especially, and the sunset was gorgeous. Spent longer than we had planned, because we loved it so much. Stayed until sun had set. May go and camp another time.

Went into the visitors center. The ranger was very helpful and knowledgeful of the area. She even let us watch an 8 minute video about the sea. The video was the right amount of time to cool off as it was 97 outside. If you go definitely watch video it talked about times gone by and shows how the sea was formed.

Jan. and Feb. best times of year to visit. Weather is pleasant and not too hot. You can see flocks of Canada geese and other migrants. It's a beautiful sight when they rise up from the water and fly in circles. This is a beautiful, peaceful place...a hidden gem.

Interesting but be sure to wear hiking boots. Do not wear sandals on the beach/shore because rather than sand, it is the remains of fish and other marine life (ie tons of white fish bones and barnacles) I saw one girl in flip flops wincing in pain as she pulled a 1"+ fish bone out of her foot that had punctured straight in (puncture wounds are prone to infections anyway, so this was not a goos situation for her and surely not how she planned her day). It was very pretty as sun was setting. It's huge. It was interesting, but Google it first. There are ecological concerns the state is working on because of how the 'sea' was formed and why it is evaporating over time.
