Old Northside Bed & Breakfast

While in Indy for BOA Grand Nationals we stayed at The Old Northside Bed and Breakfast. We chose to stay here because of the favorable reviews and the location close to downtown. The price was right too. First let me start by saying if you are looking for a hotel experience or expecting white linens this is not the place for you. The owner Gary was up to greet us and show us around and help us get settled even though we arrived after midnight. The room was adequately furnished and very clean. If you have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before you should note it is like staying at a friend's house and each B&B experience is very different. Our room had a TV, DVD and VHS player, a fireplace and spa tub. The room was very quiet and cozy. The bed was much more firm than I like and the pillows need replacing. Gary provided a generous number of delicious choices for breakfast as well as a ton of yummy snacks. I would stay here again.

Gary knocked on our door (late in the evening) and asked if we were overflowing the tub. I said "No". I told him I would get a rob on and he could come in and look. He said, "No I believe you. OH and by the way your dog barked the entire time you were gone." My boyfriend and I packed up our stuff and left. As we were leaving Gary said, "It's not my fault your dog barked." I think he was bad about his tub. We did not over flow it, we offered for him to come in and check. He was abrasive and not helpful. The place is not well care for. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

A nice homely feel but compact and narrow. Nevertheless, pleasant and charming.

The Inn gets 5 stars from me and my husband! The owner himself greeted us and showed us the inn at 11 o'clock at night. There were cookies, beverages and other snacks to eat when we arrived (late). Danny, the inn host, was very friendly and accomodating. We enjoyed chatting with him and other guests. The inn is very clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast quiche was Awesome (very cheesy) and they even had mini cheesecakes for breakfast! My husband and I Definitely recommend the Old Northside Inn B & B and will be staying there again in the future. Thank you, Gary and Danny for a very nice and relaxing visit!
