Ontario Security Training

Thirty-two of the of the forty hours of the course are taught online, while the CPR component (eight hours) is done at their facility; they do let you take the CPR component separately through St John's Ambulance or the Red Cross if you'd prefer that. The company provides a hard copy of the training materials as a handbook for study, exam prep and general on-the-job knowledge to be a security guard. They also host weekly job fairs at their facility for successful graduates with licences. All three components of the training are quite effective and prepare you very well for the licensing exam. The handbook is particularly helpful because it's an easy-to-read guide, the use of which goes far beyond the needs of the exam. The company is very professional and the gentleman who wrote the book definitely knows his stuff; this is something you get confirmation of first-hand if you meet him at the CPR training session. I was able to clear the exam with more than 90% on my first try simply by paying attention during training and studying using the handbook! I highly recommend Ontario Security Training to anyone who wants to pursue work in this field in the GTA.

Personally I was very excited and after attending cpr I was even more excited. However, in the beginning I'd log on to work on the course and the timer wouldn't update and I didn't have the luxury of spending a few hours to see a few minutes more. I will admit if it was a little easier or if they could give me more help then trying a different browser (which I did) then maybe I'd have my license today. It didn't feel like a scam to me, but it may as well have been.

OST has always proven to be professional and efficient. The staff has always been on the ready to answer any questions, clear any confusions and provide the best training for all certifications required by the Government of Ontario for security guards. I absolutely recommend anyone aspiring to be a security guard to look into Ontario Security Training.
