Just buy your own parts(Tubes,Tires,Etc...) and then ask them to install it for you. Saves you a lot more money :)

I got a complete overhaul on my 40+ year old bike and could not be happier. It literally rides like a brand new bike. I was skeptical on how deep they would go but they fixed everything! Highly recommended.

I'm not a student at CSUS, so I was hesitant to deal with the parking and walking across campus to get my bike tuned. Since the prices seemed so reasonable, I gave them a shot. It was absolutely worth it. Nicest guys ever there. They gave my bike a quick inspection and determined I didn't need to spend as much as I planned for the more thorough tuning. Bike was done on time and after changing the chain and adjusting derailers it rides like a brand new bicycle. I'm a very satisfied customer. I'll be going back. Only caution: I would not go to peak to shop for a road bike or accessories- brand selection and supply is very limited (this is not their specialty)

I rented some backpacking gear from Peak Adventures. It was supposed to be my first backpacking trip, however was canceled due to bad weather.
Their gear is really good and I was impressed. The backpacks were super nice Deuter packs. The sleeping bags were 15 degree bags and the 2-man tent was really awesome too. I'm super bummed I didn't get to use them. I will definitely rent from them again, if I get another chance to go backpacking.
I think for 2 backpacks, 2 sleeping bags, 2 sleeping mats and a 2-man tent, the total cost to rent was maybe $110. The deposit was about $900. So it was quality gear.
Their customer service was excellent and I was able to ask them to hold my gear until my trip. I just had to pay the rental fee in advance. I believe they had 4-day and 7-day rentals. I had to opt for the 7-day just because of the long weekend and timing.
My only wish is that their hours were longer or that they were open on the weekends, but you can't have everything. ;) I also wish they had special parking since it is at Sac State. Parking can be difficult during class times.

I've lost respect for Peak Adventures bike shop at Sacramento State. I bought a bike tube from them roughly 6-7 months ago and it failed to what I believe to be a manufacture defect (the patch holding the valve burst, underneath). They initially told me that they would easily replace the tube, but after I brought it to them, they refused to replace because they think I over/under inflated the tire (no evidence for this). I'm not an idiot (I'm very knowledgeable about bikes) and my bike is very well maintained inside and out. The cost is not the issue, its principle. Anyways, this is why I will use WALMART (online) for all future bike part purchases, including this replacement. At least they stand behind their products. Its unfortunate that Peak Adventures DOESN'T understand what "repeat business" actually means.
BTW: Pricing on parts is not any cheaper than the big retail stores, sometimes even more. I used to be loyal to Peak Adventures (convenience) until now. Hope my review informs future purchasing decisions.
