Petco Animal Supplies

We always like seeing the many different animals and reptiles. Was very surprised to see a tortoise being sold. Turtles are not allowed to be sold due to disease. So I would think tortoises would be the same. And they did not have many birds. Some displays were empty. We also saw sick lizards. Lots of interesting fish. Love the glow in the dark ones. They also did not have any cars for adoption the day we went. All cages were empty.

My recent trip to the Petco of Hickory was absolutely fantastic. I went in looking to get a new leash and collar for my Golden Retriever and quickly found exactly what I was looking for. The store was very tidy and the employees were friendly and helpful.

Plenty of parking. Clean, attractive store. Friendly, helpful staff. Did not have what I wanted, but store was well stocked with a variety of animal supplies. There were 3 grooming stations with 2 groomers working. They were grooming the dogs, but not smiling or talking to them or petting, or reassuring them like an owner would like to see.

We go here to pick up bedding, hay, and pellets for our guinea pigs. The store is normally very clean and the staff is pleasant. The prices are fine, many times we can find our supplies here for less than we can online.

They sell dead crickets but have live ones much cheaper up front in barrel.
