Great place. Love their food. Friendly atmosphere. Sometimes a little bit slow when busy. Great staff. Love the spring rolls with fish sauce. Best phò in town. Very clean place.

I have been frequenting Van Loi since 2005. They have the best steak flank and brisket pho, and their egg rolls so darn tasty. Be prepared to be patient both when dining in and taking out...they do get busy some times of the day. I would rather have Van Loi over Saigon Cafe which is about 2 miles south.

I speak for all those who have been loyal customers for years when I say that we absolutely love the food, but man has the service really declined over the years. I can say with full confidence this is the best vietnamese food in the Ogden area. The spring rolls and the #34 are incredibly delicious. What is crushingly sad is that if they have more than about 15 patrons seated, the wait to get your food is about an hour. Insane amount of time to wait for a bowl of pho right? Tonight I watched 6 groups of people be turned away at the door because the wait was an hour, and I counted only 15 people in the restaurant. Those people who were turned away will never come back. People who were seated were frustrated at the waitresses, but it's not their fault the owner of this place doesn't keep it adequately staffed. It makes no sense. They could make more money and have more loyal customers if they just hired a few more people. Sadly, this isn't a new problem, we have experienced this many times over the years. I'm just not sure I can keep experiencing the same type of nonsense for some of the best Vietnamese in the area. I'm just about to the point where the service is not worth the amazing food when it finally comes. It's sad such a delicious place is being held back by poor ownership and bad decision making when it comes to keeping it severely understaffed.

Tried the House Noodles, they let be taste the broth so I would know how spicy it was. If you're looking for a good spicy soup this is it.

Excellent chef special spicy beef noodle. Summer roll is fresh. This is the only place I see in around town that offers Spring roll with veggie wrap, so I know it’s authentic. Surely the chef came and greeted us, love her Vietnamese accent and we asked for a few things not on the menu that she makes in the summer for her employees. I offered to work there in the summer lol, she said that with customers asking for crab tomato noodle soup she might just offer it as a special on the weekend! Yeah we will be back for summer specials and more.
